Who We Are
Continental Maritime of San Diego, a Titan company, is a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor for the U.S. Navy. Our skilled professionals have performed hundreds of ship repairs for the Navy and Military Sealift Command. CMSD does repair on all types of major surface vessels including CVN, CG, and DDG, and all types of amphibious ships including LHD, LHA, LSD, LPD, and auxiliary ships. Our work also includes repairs and alterations to a wide range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability Systems.
Position Specifics
Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking an experienced Material Planning Coordinator to support our operations. The Material Planning Coordinator reports to the Material Control Supervisor and provides support to the material planning and control function. The position is responsible for receipt, inspection, and storage of all material in accordance with company and government policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have basic warehouse skills a plus, which includes heavy lifting, rigging and movement of material using forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies etc.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Must have a basic understanding of computer systems (i.e Microsoft office)
- US Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain a DBIDS credential is required
- Ability to read and understand military specifications and drawings is a plus
Physical Requirements
- May be exposed to fumes, irritants, laser light, toxic chemicals, and potential electrical shock in an industrial or shipboard environment.
- May involve gathering data while observing rotating or operating machinery.
- Constantly works in an industrial or shipboard environment.
- Frequently moves throughout the yard.
- Must be able to maneuver, ascend, and descend stairs/ladders/ramps located inside various ships.
- Ability to move more than 40lbs.
- May be exposed to rapid changes in microclimates, industrial processes, and other environmental factors while collecting data, providing direction, and observing performance of task teams.
