Job Description
OBJECTIVE
Responsible for the Expediting, Inspection, and Logistics Inbound and Outbound activities on behalf of the customer, for all issued orders with or without framework agreement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
· Expedites purchase orders from the moment of their acceptance until the goods are delivered to the final destination
· Communicates with other departments, management, and end users regarding late delivery of items
· Coordinates and/or performs the inspection activities
· Analyzes the information received by suppliers and send requests for quotation according to best mode of transportation identified
· Prepare domestic and international request for quotation (RFQ) of transportation
· Prepare shipping instructions ensuring that all parts involved are synchronized for execution; vendor, carrier, inspection coordinator and forwarding agent
· Clarify issues regarding shipping instructions
· Controls and follows up on shipments from origin to Control Point
· Generates, interprets, analyzes reports, and takes actions by resolving discrepancies in shipments
· Contacts vendors and requests necessary documentations in support of customer’s efforts to comply with Mexican customs regulations at port of entry, when applicable, and in accordance with the PPI’S clients’ request
· When required, sends customers written communications related to the delivery of goods, requesting clarifications, acceptance of partial shipments, goods with different part numbers, or cancelation of obsolete parts
· Notifies delivery of goods to site or final destinations within the agreed time framework to complete the deliveries on time
· Responds internal and external customers inquiries related to the delivery status of an order
· Follows up of shipments from Control Point to final destinations to make sure goods are delivered on time and adequate manner with all parties involved
· Identifies and calculates liquidated damages to suppliers for late delivery, applicable to purchase orders outside of a Framework Agreement
· Notifies suppliers of the accrued liquidated damages to be applied for late delivery
· Reviews, follows up and validates invoices submitted by provider of services
· Communicates with suppliers and customers to assist as needed in the clarification of the terms and conditions of the P.O.’s
· Registers P.O.’s placed outside the Automated Information Systems that require expediting, transportation and/or inspection by PPI
· Registers the receipt of materials at any Control Point into SAP SYSTEM when required by customer
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures

REQUIREMENTS
Education Level:
· A minimum of four-year college or University degree in a technical or administrative field
Years of Experience:
· A minimum of three years in activities related to materials logistics or five years of experience in materials inspection and logistics
Travel Requirements: 5% - 20% of the time in the United States, Mexico, or as required
Language: Fluent in English and Spanish
Special Requirements:
· Computer Skills – Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Outlook, SAP Logistics modules (desirable)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. occasionally.
