The Houston office of a successful and growing law firm is actively searching for a mid-level attorney to round out our General Liability Team. We are a diverse group that values team structure, creative thinking, a structured learning environment, and a respectful work/life balance.
This candidate would ideally have 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in General Liability. Additionally, the candidate should be able to comfortably handle a case with minimal supervision.
Job Description:
Applicants would preferably have experience in general liability litigation and insurance defense. Your organization, ability to follow procedures, time management, and attention to detail will be essential. Must possess excellent communication skills, ability and experience sufficient to defend clients in a variety of general liability matters and ability to work both independently and as a member of a defense team. Responsibilities:
Attend hearings, mediations, and conduct trials.
Argue motions, take effective depositions of lay and expert witnesses.
Consult with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
Coordinate the case handling with claims personnel.
Education:
Juris Doctorate and member in good standing of Texas State Bar.
Qualifications:
Minimum of three to five years of experience in litigation.
Deposition and trial experience.
Background in general liability litigation.
Insurance defense experience a plus.
Must have excellent writing, research, and oral skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $106,378.74 - $128,112.03 per year
