We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Litigation Assistant with a focus on Personal Injury to join our dynamic legal team. This role is integral to our firm's success and involves supporting our legal team in all aspects of litigation, from the initial client meeting to the final resolution of the case. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Personal Injury law, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Responsibilities
As a Permanent Litigation Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Providing comprehensive support to attorneys in all aspects of case management, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and trial documents.
2. Coordinating and managing attorney calendars, scheduling depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
3. Conducting legal research and drafting legal memoranda, briefs, and other documents.
4. Reviewing and summarizing medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case-related documents.
5. Assisting in trial preparation, including the preparation of trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
6. Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
7. Maintaining case files and ensuring that all relevant documents and information are properly organized and easily accessible.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Litigation Assistant, preferably in the area of Personal Injury law.
2. Strong legal writing skills and the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
3. Experience with calendaring and coordinating complex schedules.
4. Proven experience in preparing for trials, including the preparation of trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
5. Exceptional legal research skills and the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
6. A high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
8. Proficiency in using legal research platforms and other legal software.
9. A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
