Job Description:
Join our fantastic Food Service staff as a Cook I at Attic Angel! We provide excellent customer service to our residents, in a caring and personalized atmosphere, that respect their dignity while enhancing their quality of life! This position offers a competitive wage, additional pay for working weekends, time and half for facility holidays and no late nights!
This position reports to the Director of Dining Services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set tables appropriately following facility criteria
- Take residents orders on POS system
- Serves meals and beverages to residents, guests and families
- Clears tables and performs dishwashing duties
- Working independently and with a team, you will prepare and serve food items in our main dining room, special events and Café.
- Determines amount of food supplies required for functions and obtains them from storage areas, maintains control of leftover food supplies, checks advance scheduled functions.
- Ability to organize product, maintain inventory, clean work spaces
- Ensures appropriate table settings, reserved tables, and individual reserve requests. Serves and clears tables following service etiquette; performs dishwashing duties, all in accordance with sanitary practices
Education/Experience
• High school education or equivalency required.
• Minimum 1 year quantity food production, prep cooking, or line cooking experience/or training in related setting.
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong oral, written and electronic communication skills.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service strategies. • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work load.
• Knowledge of food preparation, allergens, and therapeutic diets.
• Ability to carry out job responsibilities in an accurate, flexible and conscientious manner within a fast paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
• Knowledge of quantity food preparation, modified diets and proper food handling techniques. • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, guest, and staff.
• Ability to work within established policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a partnership environment which fosters effective teamwork in meeting the mission of Attic Angel Community.
• Ability to lead dining staff to provide excellent customer service to residents, families, guest, and staff.
• Must be willing to accept weekend/holiday work schedule and occasional overtime.
