Job Description
An ENR Top 500 Transportation Engineering firm is seeking various levels of full-time experienced and through entry level Transportation Technician to join our dynamic team for a role working on-site with the mid-Atlantic Region. As a Transportation Technician, you will play a crucial role in the construction and implementation of transportation systems. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient movement of people and goods, ensuring the safety and functionality of transportation infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in Transportation Engineering and a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Job Requirements:
1. Education: GED/High School Diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in transportation industry, with a focus on transportation construction and infrastructure development.
3. Licensure/Certification: Professional Certification or Engineer (PE) license are highly desirable. A plus would be to have current NCDOT Certs for materials received and placed that require field testing.
4. Technical Skills: proficiency in MS Office Package, HiCAMS, SharePoint, etc.
5. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant transportation codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., MUTCD, AASHTO, ITE).
6. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to analyze complex transportation data and propose effective solutions.
7. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
8. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing transportation projects and guiding junior staff members.
9. Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance: Review transportation plans, specifications, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
2. Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their transportation needs, present project proposals, and address any concerns or inquiries.
3. Team Development: Mentor and guide transportation staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
4. Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety in transportation projects, identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.

Option 1:Traditional: Score a minimum of 85 on the ARITHMETIC placement test or its equivalent or pass the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) exam required to qualify for the TRETTR register. No technical experience is required; or
