Our client is seeking a Regional Office Leader in their Charlotte, NC office. The primary function of the Regional Manager is to lead business development, project management, and staff oversight. The Regional Manager nurtures client relations, secures contracts, and oversees (but does not need to have expertise in) projects for all verticals of our transportation practice that include, but are not limited to the following:
- Transportation Engineering Services
- Traffic Engineering
- Traffic Design
- Street + Transportation Lighting Design
- Parking Studies + Design
- Transportation Planning Services
- Transportation master plans
- Campus master plans
- Corridor Plans
- Comprehensive/ma plans
- Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Services
- TDM Forecasting + Strategic Planning
- TDM Strategy Creation + Implementation
- TDM Strategy Engagement + Marketing
- TDM Monitoring + Evaluation
This position serves a new market for our client, so a start-up mentality is necessary. Projects will be located throughout North Carolina and the Southeastern States, so occasional travel to help launch and manage a project, as well as meeting with clients and attending hearings is required. Our client is looking to expand our project portfolio in cities such as Charlotte, Raleigh, and Atlanta. Someone who is willing to manage and grow a relatively new practice, with the support of the entire firm, to create a portfolio of real estate-focused transportation projects throughout Charlotte and the Carolinas is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead client relations/customer service tasks
- Lead preparation for and completion of regular meetings with clients and partners
- Ensure proper distribution of appropriate workload for office staff to remain productive
- Provide mentoring, training, and guidance for office staff
- Function as an active participant in team-level decision-making
- Lead business development functions including conferences, networking events, proposal development, and client relations.
- Track qualified leads and set up meetings with potential clients, including developers, property owners, architects, civil engineers, institutions, and government agencies
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients and partners
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 ten years of progressive transportation consulting experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field
- PE required in North Carolina
- Knowledge of the development process and the jurisdictional requirements for transportation analyses in the City of Charlotte, surrounding counties and towns, and the States of North and South Carolina
- Ability to work with the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual on Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and technical analysis methods software, including Synchro andVISSIM
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning and engineering practices
