- Providing legal support to A Leading Energy Delivery Company's renewable power business, which includes the development, construction, acquisition, and operation of solar and wind projects in North America and Europe. More specifically:
- Assisting with the analysis, drafting and review of legal documents relating to a variety of real property matters such as lease agreements, easements, and other real property documents in relation to wind and solar power development projects.
- Providing legal advice and support with structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting contracts related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures in the Power business unit.
- Assisting with due diligence in connection with M&A transactions and business development projects.
- Providing legal advice and drafting and reviewing other commercial agreements and documents in connection with the business and operations of the Power business unit.
- Providing legal support to other internal A Leading Energy Delivery Company departments, such as the Credit department.
- Instructing and collaborating with external counsel as required to ensure that they are providing services in an effective and cost-efficient manner in accordance with A Leading Energy Delivery Company's Outside Counsel Billing and Staffing Guidelines and managing legal matter budgets.
Who You Are:
Required:
- Law Degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Qualification or ability to qualify as a member in good standing in the State of Texas or New York.
- Minimum of four (4) years of real estate and legal transactional experience either in-house or at a major firm.
- Highly developed ability to identify and respond to legal commercial business issues on short notice, and under strict time constraints.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic work environment; under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively (cooperative yet persuasive approach) with all levels in the organization.
- Excellent organizational, project management and facilitation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail, but pragmatic in approach.
Preferred:
Broad understanding of the North American energy industry; knowledge and experience in the renewable power industry is considered an asset.
