Legal Counsel (Hybrid)

Description:

A Global Fitness Training Community is looking for an attorney to join its Legal Team at its headquarters in Austin, TX. Reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel, the individual selected for this Legal Counsel role will mainly be responsible for assisting with the Company's contract activities. In addition, this Legal Counsel will be responsible for assisting with global franchise litigation and brand compliance (through contract and trademark enforcement) and provide legal advice as requested by the Company.

• Prepare, review and negotiate various U.S. and global franchise-related agreements.
• Partner with the Company's sales, accounting and compliance teams to enforce the Company's contracts globally.
• Effectively interact, both verbally and in writing, with external parties (e.g. franchisees, outside counsel) to clarify any legal issues, determine the best recourse and escalate issues as required.
• Develop, and execute on, a global brand compliance strategy, including contract and trademark enforcement.
• Assist in various litigation matters as needed from time to time.
• Provide support and strategic advice to other functions in the legal department and to internal clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and a member of good standing in Texas.
• 3-5 years of experience in corporate and commercial practice gained from combined experience at a law firm and an in-house position.
• Experience in commercial contracts required.
• Experience in franchise and / or intellectual property law is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent.
• High attention to detail.
• Solutions oriented.
• Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google's G-Suite.
