Intellectual Property Legal Specialist
Our client, a leading law firm downtown Denver is looking for a 4 plus year's Intellectual Property Legal assistant to support their fast-growing IP practice. We are looking for someone with strong Office Suite, proofreading, and comprehensive knowledge of specific Intellectual Property department guidelines, maintain and update files, including file openings, file applications, responses with USPTO. This position would be responsible for preparing and maintain IDS's. reviewing issued patents for errors, determining the expiration dates of patents, and preparing a certificate of correction, if necessary. You will be responsible for preparing, coordinating and circulating reporting letters to clients, uploading documents, and also some paralegal work as well. The firm offers great benefits and an excellent salary. This position will allow the Intellectual Property Specialist to bill their hours as well. - 3+ years of previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity- Conducting routine discovery
- Expertise in Patent - US Prov - Utility - Des - PCT
- Proficiency in Patentability Searches
- Adeptness in USPTO searches
- USPTO filings experience highly desired
- Foundational knowledge in patents
- Patent intellectual property experience
- Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions
- Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information
- Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database
- Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents
