SalaryOverview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to our legal team and contribute to the efficient operation of our law firm. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally and effectively
- Prepare correspondence and draft legal documents under attorney supervision
- Assist in document review and management
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing
- Review email inboxes for partners on a daily basis
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Familiarity with legal drafting and formatting
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant is preferred
