POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, provides legal administrative support ensuring the efficient operation, organization, and distribution of legal documents, the maintenance of the department's docket of cases, and the preparation of court cases. Assists with the Medical Subrogation process through generation and tracking of correspondence. Assists with Claims processing as time permits.

Documents Management
- Receives and reviews legal documents including: motions, pleadings, interrogatories, court orders, and subpoenas to determine distribution to appropriate attorneys or staff.
- Organizes and files documents and confidential records.
- Retrieves documents for court cases.
- Provides information from files to authorized individuals.
- Maintains security and confidentiality of records and files.
- Assists with the Medical Subrogation process through the generation and tracking of correspondence to identify potential subrogation claims for CTA.
- Assists with the management of documents and the processing of claims.

Docket Management
- Enters court orders, discovery, depositions, and other items into docket system.
- Tracks the status of litigated cases, hearings, pre-trial motions, and trial dates ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepares various case status reports for staff and management.

Performs general clerical duties including typing, answering the phone, and filling in for administrative staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of general office experience in a legal services environment or a combination of education and experience related to the position.
- Must be a certified Notary Public within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must type a minimum of 60 wpm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, manual dexterity and fingering for working with computer key boards.

- Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.

- Intermediate skill using Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel, trial visual aids, and docket management systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, Authority personnel and external contacts.
- Ability to establish priorities, manage case docket, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Ability to maintain confidential legal information.
