Job description

Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation.

This Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for providing coordination and administrative support to the agency-wide training and development initiative. This position is responsible for data maintenance, scheduling, and correspondence regarding CCC’s training functions. This position is also responsible for assisting with the continual maintenance and operation of the Learning Management System (LMS) and provision of agency-wide trainings and special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and coordinate all live trainings, including space reservations, room arrangements, supplies, catering, and any other event-specific needs
  • Work with CCC trainers to ensure ample and equitable coverage for all trainings.
  • Specialize and administer Learning Management System including building training plans, determining training formats, communicating with stakeholders about content development needs, pulling reports as needed for audits, registering participants, managing attendance.
  • Liaison with LMS vendor as the main point of contact for troubleshooting and system enhancements.
  • Provide technical support to CCC staff for all Learning Management System and training requests.
  • Develop and maintain a system for storage and review of training evaluations and documentation.
  • Act as primary liaison between CCC and external training providers.
  • Work as primary point of contact regarding training registration and attendance.
  • Ensure seamless interface with HRIS to LMS data feed, which may include liaison with other stakeholders and vendors.
  • Specialize in all Learning and Development functional activities including oversight of the Learning & Development email inbox and HR Central ticketing system.
  • Lead the CPI Trainer group, including training provision, trainer certification, data management, and supply management.
  • Act as a positive, collaborative, and solution-focused member of the Learning and Development team.
  • Cross-train and provide back-up to other areas of Learning and Development when needed.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two years of experience performing administrative duties in a non-profit or social services setting
  • College degree preferred; high school diploma of GED required.
  • Advanced computer skills, including competency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • HR Information Systems (HRIS) or Learning Management System (LMS) experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience presenting information to diverse groups and facilitating discussion.
  • Ability to become certified to train Nonviolent Crisis Intervention courses by the Crisis Prevention Institute within 6 months of hire.
  • High level of organization is required.
  • Experience required with office machines (Fax, photocopier, printers, etc.)
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects.
  • Must be able to climb stairs several times a day.
