Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Renaissance Center in Detroit, MI, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
The Lead Technology Auditor is responsible for leading Software and Technology Infrastructure audit assignments that support the vision and strategy of General Motors Audit Services (GMAS). This includes ownership for execution of audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Person will be responsible for leading a team in various audit type engagements with internal and external stakeholders. During which may be responsible for identifying, and evaluating the design of IT controls, audit testing, and documenting reportable issues in the audit report. Operate in accordance with GMAS Audit Methodology (Agile), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and other applicable standards, and defined plans, budgets, and schedules.
What You'll Do
Support the development and execution of a comprehensive program of audit work. This includes leading the development of an annual risk assessment and audit plan.
Ensure audit projects address GM and GMAS key strategic and business objectives based on understanding of appropriate business aspects, risks, potential fraud,
Review and approve work papers for accuracy, adequate testing coverage, and appropriate documentation.
Oversee development of and review the audit report. Reviews audit issues ensuring that the root cause is accurately identified and that management action plans are developed that address the root cause.
Manage and provide hands on support to the manager, senior, and staff auditors throughout the audit.
Communicate and report audit results with business divisions and VPs, where applicable.
Serve as primary contact for local auditee management during and after the audit.
Ensure the audit management system (Star) is updated accurately and timely (including actual and budgeted project hours, dates, action plan status, findings documents)
Plan, monitor and support forecasting of annual team budget to PPG.
Track open Issues/Management Action Plan post audit.
Support team performance review (mid-year, year-end) by providing feedback and improvement opportunities.
Participates in ongoing professional development.
Develop a good understanding of GM operations worldwide.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders as well as internal and external resource groups.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field experience required.
Three years or more of professional experience or job-related experience leading engagements in IT Audit, Information Security, or Information Technology
Extensive knowledge and skill of IT analysis which includes expertise in analyzing confidentiality, integrity, availability (CIA) of complex IT systems.
Expertise in Internal Controls concepts and practices, such as NIST, CoBIT, ITIL.
Experience in Control Evaluation of enterprise cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud environments.
Understanding of Secure Software Development practices such as NIST-SSDF, OSWAP, CERT and CVI.
Understanding of technology infrastructure such as deployment, monitoring and control evaluation.
Familiarity with networking concepts such as routing, switching, access control lists, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
Experience auditing Identity & Access Management (IAM), Backup and Recovery (BUR), Change Management, Job Monitoring, and Security Configuration Controls.
Familiarity with standards and best practices as it relates to cyber risk, authentication, encryption, and secure communications.
Familiarity with ServiceNow platform components such as Service and Operations Management.
Familiarity with various operating system platforms (UNIX/Linux, Windows) and security best practices for each.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Graduate Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science related field
Professional certification (CEH, Network +, CISA, CISM, CISSP or other certifications)
Expertise in Azure Cloud, AWS and other cloud solutions.
Big 4 Public accounting firm experience
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Hands On experience with various programming/scripting languages and static code analysis tools.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable leadership ability
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently.
Domestic travel – 5%-10%; international travel possible
