Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the specific location where employee is expected to report three times per week, at minimum.
The Role - Work requires considerable amount of initiative, independent judgment, command, ability to stand alone in addition to being able to teach, coach, help buyers while finding continuous improvement opportunities within GPSC processes.
What You'll Do:
Develop, implement, and monitor Global Direct Purchasing processes and training while seeking greater efficiency, continuous improvement, and global alignment.
Purchasing liaison for Global Vehicle Development Plan (GVDP) and Global Propulsion Development Plan (GPDP)
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Directed Buys and Component Based Release (CBR)
Evaluate, mitigate, and understand compliance and risk while balancing simplification.
Gain understanding of operational procedures and instructional effectiveness to drive implementation of improvement solutions.
Create learning offerings based on Global Purchasing & Supply Chain needs and gap analysis.
Train support & educate “how” and “why” in the development and delivery of classroom and e-learning training for Global Purchasing & Supply Chain core competencies.
Serve as training and business process subject matter expert (SME)
Think Ahead Beyond Traditional Work
Work cross functionally with key stakeholders to refine and enhance existing processes in addition to working collaboratively in the development of new initiatives.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of direct purchasing or program purchasing experience postgraduate
Creativity, innovation, and openness to new ideas
Desire to challenge status quo and bring improvements to existing processes
Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and to work with a high degree of autonomy
Be skilled in developing materials to convey both concepts and information to targeted audiences
Have the ability to listen to the voice of the customer, guide, teach, and coach others
High level of capability to work independently
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and ability to collaborate cross-functionally, highly developed oral and written communication skills
High level of planning and organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Training experience
Strong knowledge of computer software & systems: Camtasia, GDiMPS, ECM, SAP and SharePoint
Experience/proficiency in Advanced Purchasing and Global Sourcing
Skilled in developing materials to convey both concepts and information to targeted audiences
The ability to listen to the voice of the customer, guide, teach, and coach others
Internal experience within GM
