Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lead School-Age Teacher to join our child care program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with School Age children, creating enriching and engaging activities, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. As a Lead School-Age Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, building positive relationships with children and families, and providing a safe and nurturing space for children to learn and grow.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for school-age children that aligns with program goals, educational standards, and children’s interests and needs.
- Plan and facilitate a variety of activities, projects, and experiences that promote academic enrichment, social-emotional development, and creative expression.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued, respected, and empowered to explore and learn.
- Establish and maintain open and effective communication with children, families, and colleagues, fostering strong partnerships and collaboration.
- Supervise and support assistant teachers and aides in implementing curriculum and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children’s progress and development, and use data to inform instructional practices and individualized support plans.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s participation, achievements, and any concerns or challenges.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing training to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices in child care and education.
- Serve as a positive role model for children and colleagues, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to early childhood education
WAGE RANGE: $19.00/hr

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with school-age children in a licensed child care or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in child care and enducation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families and colleagues.
- Creative, energetic, and adaptable teaching styles, with a passion for inspiring young learners.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate leadership qualities.
- Ability to pass a background check and comply with state licensing requirements
Schedule:
- Be flexible in working between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm
- No nights or weekends
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing for long periods of time
- Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation
