Job Description
Objective: The Montessori teacher /teacher shall perform all educational duties according to the Montessori
philosophy and method according to any curriculum guidelines established by Miniapple Montessori Inc.
Including, but not limited to the following:
1. The teacher will assume flexible hours as prescribed by the center manager in order to maintain the
correct staff/child ratio.
2. Attend all meetings, training sessions and workshops whether before, during or after regularly prescribed hours, as necessary for the mutual benefit of the students, teacher, and employer.
3. Complete all reports; evaluations, inventories and student records; hold conferences as prescribed by MIM assessment.
4. Be responsible for the upkeep of the classroom and the materials as need for the benefit of the children.
5. Supplement handmade materials as needed for the benefit of the children.
6. Complete all the in-service hours required by the State.
7. Help in the activities before and after the Montessori classroom hours. This means planning, implementing, and supervising the activities.
8. Help to maintain the rest of the center as regards to cleaning, daycare materials,
hallway and rooms.
9. Coordinate afternoon care with the Activities Director each day.

Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma, GED certificate, some college.
2. Strong written and oral communication skills
3. Knowledge of classroom management.
4. Must be teacher qualified per licensing rule 3
5. Must be 18 years of age
6. Coursework or a degree in early childhood education/child development (must meet the requirements of
MN DHS Rule 3) or a CDA. Open to viewing transcripts for other degrees if you have experience as a teacher in a child care setting
1. A desire and ability to work with young children
2. Willingness to learn, and develop, an on-going bridge between school and community
Your job duties include the above statements but are not limited to them. You will be under the direct supervision of the Center Manager and must follow the guidelines established by the manager for your particular center.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical DemandWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is
very active and required standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:30am and 6:00pm. Work days/hours subject to change based on Miniapple needs in order to accommodate staff/child ratios per Sate of MN Rule 3.
