Are you passionate about working with kids and making a positive impact on their lives? Do you have the energy and enthusiasm to inspire and engage young learners? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Lead Instructor at Crouching Tigers!
We are a mobile enrichment program specializing in martial arts and gymnastics for students between the ages of 2 and 8. We extend our program to many schools, daycares, libraries, and community centers across the territory. Join our dynamic team and help create an unforgettable experience for children as they learn martial arts, gymnastics, and showcase their skills.
No prior experience in martial arts or gymnastics? No problem! We are an introductory program and our curriculum is very basic for our young students. We are excited to teach you the skills necessary for this role!
Job Duties:
As a Lead Instructor, your main objective is to ensure that every Crouching Tigers class is the highlight of each child's week. In your 30-45 minute classes, you will empower students to achieve a sense of accomplishment, culminating in the exciting opportunity for them to break boards and showcase their newfound skills at the end of each unit.
Outside of teaching classes, you will be responsible for effective communication with both parents (to provide updates on their child's progress) and our clients (the staff at the locations where we teach).
Additionally, you will attend quarterly in-person training sessions in your territory and annual in-person training sessions at our headquarters in Indianapolis to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge. You will also participate in weekly online training to master the curriculum and ensure you deliver the best possible experience to our students.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with kids: You have a track record of inspiring and mentoring children, and you genuinely enjoy making a positive impact on their lives.
- Camp counselor-like personality: You possess a vibrant personality, always wearing a smile and radiating energy. Your creativity, engaging nature, quick thinking, and ability to adapt to students' needs are key to creating a memorable experience.
- Professional image: As an instructor representing Crouching Tigers, we expect you to uphold a professional image and maintain high standards of conduct.
- Personal accountability: Your day begins at the location of your first class, eliminating the need to commute to an office. You are responsible for punctuality and being prepared for each class.
- Ability to drive: A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are essential, as driving to different class locations is a requirement.
-A working smartphone: As a mobile instructor, you will need to be able to access your schedule and applications required for teaching via your mobile device. It is essential that your mobile phone is capable of seamlessly installing and running key applications, including but not limited to Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Calendar, and our timekeeping application.
- Minimum age of 18 with a clean record: We are committed to hiring individuals who meet our stringent standards to teach our students. State and national background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
If you have a passion for working with children, a vibrant personality, and a commitment to creating an exceptional learning experience, we want you to join our team!
Note: This is a part-time position (15-29 hours a week) with classes scheduled at various locations throughout the territory. Our schedules run Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm. We are flexible and can work with your availability!
