Senior Designer

The Senior Designer is responsible for providing design and support of senior architects including presentations and schematics through complete design solutions in accordance with Hazen design standards. Coordinate with the architectural team and interdisciplinary engineering groups for solutions that deliver the design intent in an effective, efficient, and productive way. Provide design documentation coordinated with other teams to ensure that all building components are fully integrated with one another.

Requirements:

• Professional architectural degree from U.S. accredited university
• 7-10 years minimum broad-based architectural experience, including building infrastructure design
• NYS license not required but candidate should demonstrate progression towards obtaining licensure
• Experience in rendering, presentation drawings, and construction documents especially for public bid projects
• Proficiency in Architectural design and quality responsibility
• Understanding of building systems and their coordination/integration; Architectural, Structural, Civil andMEP knowledge;
• Understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, and sustainability concepts
• Understanding of appropriate materials use in details for various methods of construction
• Excellent verbal communication, analytical thinking and reasoning skills

Proficient in Revit BIM software, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Rendering software.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize production of the architectural work throughout the project lifecycle
• Work on a variety of projects from design through construction administration
• Communicate clearly with architectural team
• Interface/coordinate with engineering disciplines to develop and execute architectural design concepts
• Development of the architectural construction documents (BIM model, project drawings and specifications)
• Ensure that project undergoes standard quality assurance activities including design reviews and design checks and perform QA/QC reviews during each phase of the project
• Ability to balance workflow and complete projects on schedule
