General Summary
The purpose and function of the Lead Electronic Technician position is to perform skilled electrical work in the design, layout, assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical control panels and wiring used in electrical systems. Must have a strong process background working with electrical data systems on today’s high-performance fracturing equipment controls. Must be able to assist skilled and non-skilled fracturing electrical teams. Ensures all activities are focused on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
- Follow written procedures to install many electronics, switches, controls, circuit breakers, wires, lights, and other electrical equipment.
- Work in conjunction with engineering to ensure product quality.
- Work with shipping and receiving to ensure proper parts availability; assist in shipping to ensure appropriate and timely shipping of goods.
- Connect wires or cables to electrical devices per design.
- Maintain safety practices and procedures.
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Test equipment as needed.
- Able to use a multimeter and other electrical measurement and troubleshooting devices.
- Keep management informed about the reliability of tools and equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of component ID color code, basic soldering, utilized assembly drawings, wire lists bill of materials, and specific written instruction in performing duties.
- Build electronic assemblies using perforated printed circuit boards and discrete components.
- Assemble control modules using steel chassis, existing electronic assemblies, and point-to-point wiring.
- Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Working knowledge of drafting, electrical system layout, schematic/drawing reading, and mathematics; working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in electrical system installation and maintenance work.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.
- Skill in operating the listed tools and equipment; reading drawings and specifications.
- Ability to follow proper methods, procedures, and safety precautions of linework and understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and adverse outside weather conditions.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demand
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee must frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly/frequently lift and/or move between 30 to 50 pounds and infrequently/occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
