SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for performing testing, installation and commissioning of Kinetic products and prototypes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read, understand, and interpret schematics, P&IDs, sketches, and written instructions to assemble parts or products as well as operations of equipment.
- Assembles and tests subsea production control system and drilling control HPUs, subsea distribution hardware & assemblies according to company, customer and industry specifications.
- Ensures that safety is of the utmost priority when operating, assembling and testing equipment.
- Participates in Safety and Quality observation programs.
- Ensure that quality process and procedures are followed.
- Performs maintenance and operations of rental equipment both onshore and offshore.
- Performs fluid analysis on various types of control fluids and / or chemicals.
- Perform both High Voltage and Low Voltage terminations and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates design discrepancies. Identifies and suggests design improvements.
- Completes required documentation, including but not limited to: daily progress reports, service tickets, test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports.
- Prepares test procedures and operations / maintenance manuals in accordance with customer and industry standards and specifications
- Perform various diagnostics tests on long electrical conductors and fiber optic cables. This may include TDR, OTDR, CR, IR, etc…
- Install Fiber Optic Connection end terminations.
QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for reading, understanding, and following the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for each job.
- Participate in company safety initiatives
- Ensure all work is conducted safely
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL
- 5+ years experience with electronics controls testing, and maintenance
- High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational electrical training or related experience.
- Mid level of expertise in assembly and testing of Electro-Hydraulic Power and Control units, subsea distribution equipment and drilling control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & BOMs, P&IDs; wiring diagrams and all written engineering procedures;
- Experience with PLCs, data communications, electrohydraulic instrumentation and field I/O devices.
- Instrumentation Experience with 4-20Ma, 0-20Ma, 0-10VDC, 1-5VDC
- Proficiency with Oscilloscopes and various electrical meters
- Proficient with up to 480 VAC & up to 24 VDC
- Previous offshore experience on a vessel, semisubmersible, or drillship preferred
- Read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, diagrams, and procedures.
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks.
- Highly efficient user of Microsoft Office product suite;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
DESIRABLE
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years experience with electronic controls testing, and maintenance
- Valid Technical Certificate from a recognized body preferred.
- Sub-sea controls experience in the Oil and Gas sector
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Able to operate software application as applicable to position
- Track record of success working in energy related company
