JOB TITLE: ELECTRONIC TECH
REPORTS TO: WORKSHOP MANAGER/LEAD
LOCATION: HOUSTON, TEXAS
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Electronic Technician has primary responsibility for the maintenance, repair & servicing of a wide range of Electronic equipment and sub-components in a safe and efficient manner, predominantly working within the Electronic department.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Ensures equipment and all systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements.
- Uses logical fault finding techniques during breakdown situations.
- Ensures that the equipment is checked and maintained in accordance with relevant task plans/work instructions.
- Ensures that new task plans/work instructions are raised and in place where none exist.
- Assists in the identification and ordering of suitable spare parts to ensure they are available when required.
- Compiles and maintains technical records, reports and logs using the Workshop Request software & SAP.
- Interface with other Workshop disciplines and internal/external clients when required.
- Participate in the planned maintenance of electronic department equipment.
- Provision of technical information to administration team to enable SAP equipment reports to be updated.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment within the department and the company to achieve high level of safety, reporting via Synergi.
- Ensure Team Lead is updated on all aspects of assigned jobs.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications and Education:
- Good general education
Desirable:
- Previous ROV workshop or offshore experience advantageous
Skills and Experience:
Technical:
- PC literate and proficient in Microsoft software applications
- Strong fault finding techniques at component level
- Proficient in the use of electrical and electronic test equipment
- Ability to read and diagnose electrical schematics
Interpersonal:
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Flexible approach and positive attitude
Self-Management Essential:
- Ability to organize and prioritize workloads.
Experience (Essential)
- Extensive Electronic systems experience on a wide range electronic equipment.
- Good working knowledge on computer hardware
Desirable:
- Good level of knowledge on a wide range of ROV/Survey subsea electronic equipment
- A working knowledge of ROV control systems hardware and software.
