Job Summary
Summary:
Under relatively close supervision, the Electronics Technician will repair, calibrate and maintain all types of electronic equipment technologies, devices, instruments and systems such as nurse call systems, paging systems, audio/visual equipment, clinical beds and stretchers and other general electronic equipment as assigned. Inspect, install and provide preventive maintenance of general electronic equipment as assigned. Provide support both onsite and remotely to a hospital, service center location or within an assigned territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a diverse range of electronic and mechanical equipment.
- Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety testing of electronic and mechanical equipment, devices, and systems.
- Diagnose, correct, and repair system and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain an orderly and functional working environment, ensuring tools and test equipment are calibrated and are in good working order before use, and follow the 5S methodology
- Participate in on-call services in accordance with contractual guidelines and/or departmental policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronic equipment technology, or military training preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Certification(s) preferred i.e., CABT, A+, etc.
Experience:
- Entry-level experience servicing a broad representation of electronic equipment, such as Office equipment, copy systems, Nurse Call Systems, Alarm Systems, Video Surveillance Systems, Communications Systems, Audio Visual Presentation Systems and Physician Dictation Systems required for this position.
- Appropriate experience may be substituted for education requirements. in clinical/patient care, in a hospital environment preferred.
