Hotel Californian is looking for a Starbucks Lead Barista to deliver exemplary customer service in providing food and beverage at their on-property Starbucks location. JOB SUMMARY:
The Starbucks Lead Barista is responsible for taking guests’ orders, preparing coffee requests, training, serving food over the counter, processing payments, and work collaboratively with team members to maintain the cleanliness of the Starbucks and dining areas. This position contributes to Starbucks success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. This job creates the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and make all guests feel welcome.
  • Take customer orders at the counter.
  • Manage the register, including all credit card and cash operations.
  • Ensure a balance of the register at the end of the shift or working period.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Attend team briefings when relevant.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor always.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude.
  • Promote hotel amenities and services to guests using personal knowledge and effective selling techniques.
  • Welcome and effectively resolve guest questions, issues and complaints with supervisor assistance as needed.
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 1-2 years previous experience in a barista and/or customer service role.
  • Education High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of Starbucks its services, and facilities.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to build relationships.
