This position will provide technical support for performing standard Genetic Toxicology assays to include, but not limited to cell-based assays, bacterial reverse mutation assay, rodent (rat and mice) bone marrow and blood based micronucleus assay, as well as other in vitro-related activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow protocols and SOPs to perform assigned tasks
- Organize and conduct work assignments in a safe and timely manner
- Perform routine lab operations in a neat, clean, and organized manner
- Performing standard microbiological procedures such as bacterial inoculation, density determination, plating, counting colonies using automated colony counter.
- Conducting cell-based assays and maintaining mammalian cell lines.
- Accurately record observations and document results in accordance with GLP guideline and departmental SOPs
- Perform data analysis and maintain study records
- Recognize problems that impede completion of work according to study protocols
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivaed, ability to pay attention to details and work acording to the provided instructions, protocols, SOPs
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment
- Basic math and chemistry skills to perform routine calculations
The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with excellent writing and oral communication skills, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry or other related field. Equivalent experience will be also considered.
