SalaryThis Lab Technician will be responsible for prepping specimens for the day. This will include verifying patient information and pipetting samples. The Lab Technician needs to be efficient in transferring and good at paying attention to details. The Lab Technician will also assist with data entry of each specimen for the day. Lab technician is responsible for the accuracy of the samples while completing transferring within a timely manner.
*Candidates must be available Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and clean laboratory area
- Perform Hematology testing: Complete Blood Count (CBC) on Sysmex SN-L analyzer, and Sedimentation Rate test
- Allergy testing
- Performing Quality Control testing and documentation, and routine machine maintenance
- Organize specimens for each day in appropriate order
- Pipette each specimen individually ensuring appropriate amounts of each sample
- Verify specimen data is accurate
- Disposing of specimens appropriately
- Abiding by HIPAA policy
- Ensuring accuracy of specimen sample while completing transferring within in a timely manner
- Close attention to detail while accurately entering specimen data into software
Required Qualifications:
- Working experience in a clinical laboratory
- Familiarity with LIM systems
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology
