Lab Technician

Founded in 2016, Infinite Chemical Analysis Labs’ mission is to provide the cannabis industry with accurate and timely analytical services of exceptional quality while exceeding clients’ expectations. The lab offers a wide range of analytical services for quality assurance and state compliance to uphold brands to the highest standards for premium products. ICAL prides itself on setting the standard for quality cannabis testing across California and Michigan. Additionally, ICAL is currently expanding its analytical services to the fields of environmental, water, food, beverage, nutraceutical, and agriculture testing. We’ll strive to set the same standard of excellence we’re known for across the entire analytical testing industry.

We are currently seeking a Lab Technicianto join our Jackson, MI team! Lab Technicians are responsible for all prep work to analyze the various products and samples we receive for testing in the lab. A successful candidate will excel in this position by displaying exceptional attention to detail skills as well as having an interest in learning various chemistry and microbiology analyses. This employee will join our evening shift workingMonday to Friday, 1:30pm -10:00pm. This position is our entry level role within our lab and a great place to begin building a career within a rapidly growing company in an ever-expansive industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learn and execute ICAL's established SOPs for sample homogenization of cannabis for testing and analysis.
• Learn and execute ICAL's established SOPs for sample preparation of state mandated compliance testing, including but not limited to: potency analysis, residual solvent analysis, terpene analysis, heavy metals, pesticide analysis.
• Clean and maintain lab and equipment, including but not limited to: incubators, laminar flow hood, fume hood, homogenizer, sonicators, microbiology medium prep, and autoclave.
• Dispose of analyzed samples and follow proper chemical waste procedures.
• Perform good laboratory practices.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times. (PPE)
• Organize lab supplies and samples.
• Assist with inventory of samples and packaging.
• Personal drive and commitment to upkeep and improvement of the Customer Satisfaction at ICAL.
• Performs other lab-related projects and research as assigned when applicable.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ideal candidate will be a creative, analytical problem-solver who can cooperatively and effectively work with colleagues.
• Understands and follows verbal and written instructions; works independently in the absence of supervision.
• Able to work quickly, without error in a high-pressure environment with ever-changing deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the analytical chemistry field.
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) with excellent computer, typing, and organizational abilities.
• Ability and willingness to multi-task, and the ability to prioritize and manage assignments.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work in a collaborative environment, must be a team player!
• Personal integrity, disciplined work ethic, organization skills, and motivation to work with a sense of urgency.
• Previous experience working in a commercial laboratory environment and/or in the cannabis industry is preferred but not required.
• Candidate must be comfortable working with and around cannabis and hemp products.
• Must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in a hard science field, Chemistry preferred.
• Proficiency with either Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience or exposure in any science field or industry.
• Must be at least 21 years old to comply with Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency.
• Must not concurrently work in any other part of the cannabis industry.
