You will need to be able to lead the kitchen team by setting the standard when it comes to food quality, sanitation, cleanliness, and teamwork. Kitchen Manager's Responsibilities:
- Manage / oversee kitchen staff
- Control flow and ticket times
- Write prep sheets and oversee food preparation
- Oversee food specs
- Maintain correct food temperatures / conduct quality assurance checklists
- Verify and teach portion control
- Write kitchen schedules / write and update a labor pro forma
- Place and receive food orders
- Train kitchen staff on all aspects of the restaurant
- Store food products in compliance with safety practices
- Bi-weekly inventories
Kitchen Manager's Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager
- Hands-on
- Knowledge with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Conflict management abilities
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
