Established in 2015 in downtown Asbury Park, NJ, Asbury Ale House quickly became known for its unique approach to experiential dining. The culturally-inspired gastropub style menu was designed to pair perfectly with a 48-tap beer selection, including a variety of local craft beer. In recent years, Asbury Ale House has become famous for innovative,“instaworthy,” and engaging over-the-top cocktails that set them apart from the competition.
We are seeking a highly skilled Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and drive innovation in our kitchen. As Kitchen Manager you will be responsible for executing a menu that is not only delicious but also visually appealing, using social media platforms to promote our brand and attract new customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and innovative menus that are in line with our brand and customer preferences.
- Manage the kitchen's daily operations, including planning and organizing food preparation and cooking activities, managing the kitchen staff, and overseeing food quality and presentation.
- Control food and labor costs through effective inventory management and menu engineering, ensuring that food and supplies are ordered, received, stored, and issued efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.
- Train, supervise, and motivate the kitchen staff to achieve excellence in their roles, and ensure that they adhere to the kitchen's standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing, accounting, and sales, to ensure that the kitchen's operations align with the company's objectives.
- Work with suppliers to source high-quality, seasonal ingredients and maintain an inventory of stock.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and events, to create and execute innovative culinary experiences.
- Use social media platforms to promote our brand and menu, engage with customers, and attract new business.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to keep up with the latest food trends and techniques.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Kitchen Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Expertise in menu development, food preparation, and presentation.
- Knowledge of current food trends and techniques.
- A passion for innovation and creativity in the kitchen.
- Experience using social media platforms to promote a brand and engage with customers.
- A degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with the team.
