Job summary:
The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for healthy meal planning, procurement, facilitation of meal preparation by clients, maintaining health code standards, managing food budget and teaching budgeting, shopping and cooking to clients. This position is responsible for following proper sanitation methods for food preparation and storage as instructed by the Health Department and will mentor residents about nutrition, budgeting, menu planning, safe food preparation and storage
Qualifications:
Required:
• One (1) year experience in a kitchen management
• A current Alaska food worker’s card or ability to obtain one upon hire
• A current valid driver’s license
• Qualify for SFA’s commercial automobile insurance
• Ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check

• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Punctuality and consistent reliability in reporting to work

Job responsibilities:
• Oversee kitchen procurement (shopping, supplies, food, etc.)
• Manage food budget and inventory
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors
• Oversee and maintain nutritional meal plans according to governmental standards
• Mentor clients in areas of budgeting, shopping, and food preparation
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients with professional boundaries
• Organize production and service needs of the facility and keep appropriate production and other records as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of all information as it relates to the position
• Provide accurate and timely digital documentation of services provided to clients
