Position: JWICS Systems Administrator
Location: Tyndall AFB, Florida
Salary: $75k-$90k
Position description: Advent Services is seeking a qualified JWICS Systems Administrator.
Mandatory Qualifications:

  • All contract personnel must be U.S. citizens, able to communicate (comprehend speech, converse, read, and write) effectively in English.
  • Must have either a bachelor's degree or 10 years equivalent related military work experience with the Air Force, Navy, Army, or Marine Corps.
  • All categories must possess a current U.S. Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility prior to commencement of work on applicable tasks.
  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience for each of the following areas: working with Microsoft operating systems for servers and clients, Cisco equipment, and ISR systems and software.
  • Completion of CM American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of joint and Air Force ISR
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience having participated in AOC exercises or operations as AOC C4I System, AOC ISR SME, and System Administrator to include management in key positions in each of these areas.
  • Experience supporting AOC operations within classified environments to include SIPRNet and JWICS.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using unclassified (NIPRNet) and classified (SIPRNet) network enterprise environments and office automation software to include Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • JWICS System Admin., Configuration Manager/Lead requires IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent). Config. Manager/Lead IAM Level II certification (CISSP or equivalent).

Tasks:
  • The contractor shall install, configure, administer, and maintain TS operating systems and systems servers to ensure an appropriate level of The contractor shall maintain these systems to meet the system's uptime (fully operational) rates appropriate to the criticality of the system (mission critical, mission essential, and mission support). The Government will provide the equipment and supplies required to ensure such uptime rates. The uptime expectations are defined below:
  • The contractor shall load TS system application software and patches as directed. This includes the application of all prescribed or approved anti-virus, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVAs) to assigned systems. Compliance will be reported to the unit Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or unit Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • The contractor shall provide JWICS related operational and technical assistance in areas including, but not limited to, system and network administration, network security, monitoring of system performance, system applications, patch installations and configurations, system services and maintenance, and similar related technical support Specific tasking in these areas may be generated by either the local site Program Manager or major command (MAJCOM) representative. The contractor will validate system applications patches, installations, and configurations by performing quarterly reviews of the JWICS software platform database and comparing that database content to the current system configuration.
  • The contractor shall assist the Air Combat Command (ACC), and 16AF East Coast Enterprise Service Desk (EC-ESD) as well as West Coast Enterprise Service Desk (WC-ESD) help desks to provide a variety of technical expertise and support concerning the JWICS above TS enclave by performing installation, upgrade, and administration of hardware and software for AFNORTH/A2 and 601 AOC, EADS and WADS systems in deployable and fixed garrison environments, as well as troubleshooting and resolving operating system, network, and application problems as required to ensure system operational
  • The contractor shall assess correct and in range performance and utilization of installed JWICS software as well as performing trouble reporting and basic troubleshooting functions.
  • The contractor shall perform maintenance and sustainment of all JWICS instances within the scope of the 601 AOC, AFNORTH/A2, 325FW, EADS and WADS, spread across Tyndall AFB, FL, Rome AB, NY and Joint Base Lewis- McChord, WA.
  • The contractor shall attend JWICS conferences and any applicable follow- on or refresher training at specific contractor or government-designated locations to be determined at the time of training scheduling.
  • The contractor shall maintain JWICS applications documentation as designated, notices, and other related data, and integrate into local unit training activities. Maintain current library of installed JWICS software including commercial off the shelf (COTS) and government off the shelf (GOTS) documentation, Load Software Users Manuals, Version Description Documents, and similar materials as required.
  • The contractor shall conduct interoperability testing for all local variance requests for new capabilities by either the 601st AOC, AFNORTH/A2, EADS and/or WADS staffs as approved by the JWICS Program Office or local security
  • The contractor shall troubleshoot all user and client account issues on JWICS related server and network storage devices.
  • The contractor shall respond to system outages IAW system outage response timelines so far as the Government provides the equipment and supplies to affect such timelines. The response timelines are as follows:
  • The contractor shall provide maintenance support to remote sites as specified by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • The contractor shall perform periodic preventive maintenance of all systems assigned and will establish new preventive maintenance inspections and schedules as new systems health concerns arise that require regular attention.
  • The contractor shall provide regular periodic and event driven updates to the designated representative regarding system status and health.
  • The contractor shall participate in staff, end-of-day, Configuration Requirements Board (CRB), project, and requirements meetings as required in order to communicate planned tasks, systems status, and issues to the entirety of the maintenance staff and leadership.
  • The contractor shall direct, perform, and coordinate any JWICS, and supporting system, end-to-end validation tests as required.
  • The contractor shall establish and modify JWICS profiles and permissions to meet user's requirements.
  • The contractor shall install, configure, and maintain JWICS client system
  • The contractor shall perform periodic backup of JWICS systems within their scope, in coordination with JWICS Program Manager, COR, or other designated representatives.
  • The contractor shall manage all JWICS servers and small computers within their scope.
  • The contractor shall manage user computer software configurations and tactical local area network (LAN) systems within their scope.
  • The contractor shall coordinate with users, workgroup managers, and ESD personnel to resolve computer software and hardware problems within their
  • The contractor shall coordinate changes to the JWICS systems network, computers, servers, or LAN systems within their scope with JWICS Program Manager, COR or other designated representative.
  • The contractor shall provide JWICS systems administration and engineering planning, integration, implementation, and operations within their scope, in support of war, contingency and humanitarian operations, exercises, and experiments.
  • The contractor shall provide mentorship and training to newly assigned systems administrators and engineers as needed to ensure continuous support for the JWICS system exists in their absence.
  • The contractor shall administer JWICS client, network and server operating systems to ensure appropriate level of availability for JWICS
  • The contractor shall develop functional checklists to assist operators with managing and using database capabilities for JWICS network.
  • The contractor shall administer and support JWICS video
  • The contractor shall coordinate any JWICS VTC issues and upgrades with the Global Network Operations Center (GNOC), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), local service providers as well as any parties with equities.
  • The contractor shall be required to assist the government in performing communications security (COMSEC) duties, thus requiring, but not limited to, keying, storing, and inventorying COMSEC material.
