EFK Moen, LLC, is a Civil Engineering Design firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with additional office locations in St. Charles, Missouri, Chicago and Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Atlanta, Georgia. Job Description:
The IT/CADD Support Technician is an entry level to early career position. Full-time, part-time and internship candidates will be considered. The purpose of this position is to provide basic Information Technology support services to staff while also becoming proficient in the use, configuration and administration of the Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software utilized by the company. This position will report to the Technology & Business Support Manager.
This position is only offered in our St. Louis office (Manchester/I-270 area). Remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive:
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff seeking assistance with computer related issues
- Perform in-person or remote troubleshooting
- Identify and implement effective solutions to computer related issues
- Direct unresolved issues to IT management
- Record events and problems and their resolution in logs and help desk system
- Follow-up and update status of trouble tickets
- Provision and deploy new hardware and software in accordance with company standards
- Perform minor computer hardware repairs and upgrades as needed.
- Learn the installation, use configuration and troubleshooting of CADD and other technical software
- Assist in network and server administration
Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Completion of a Bootcamp or Certificate Program in Information Technology, CADD or other technology-oriented field
- At least 6 months experience working in an office environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Interest in the Information Technology and CADD aspects of transportation design
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Must have own reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed) for periodic assignments in our Fairview Heights, Illinois office
- Ability to travel to our Chicago and/or Atlanta offices if needed
Preferred Experience:
- Prior IT Help Desk experience
- Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Aided Drafting and Design or other STEM program including completion of college level math and writing courses.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation
- Experience with multiple types of office software such as Microsoft 365 and Adobe products
- Training and/or experience in systems administration including servers, firewalls and virtualization
Physical Qualifications:
- Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time
- Ability to type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting to 30 pounds, climbing ladders, and crawling beneath desks
