What's the role?
The Systems Administrator designs, installs, administers, and optimizes IT infrastructure services including server equipment, software systems, and other related components to ensure high levels of availability and security. The Systems Administrator also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with organizational goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This includes:
- Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer's networks and in house servers
- Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
- Keep an eye out for needed updates
- Support and administer third-party applications
- Ensure network security and connectivity
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
- Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
- Resolve problems reported by end user
- Define network policies and procedures
- Specify system requirements and design solutions
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration
What experience and skills do I need to be successful?
- Experience with VMWare, Servers, Storage, Backup, Cisco, HP, virtualization, Cisco.
- Advanced knowledge of systems administration, VMWare Virtualization, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated storage and network equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of designing, managing, and tuning virtualization environments.
- 2+ years of direct hands-on experience in VMWare & HyperV standups, VM servers, networking, servers, Storage vendors, Windows Server, Exchange Server, & SQL Server. Direct lower level (II and III) support experience.
- Strong understanding of network concepts and firewall administration.
- Expert knowledge of server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Professional IT Certifications desired in Microsoft AZ-104, Microsoft AZ-140, VMWare Certified Professional, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with managing storage technologies such as SAN or NAS.

What will my schedule look like?
This role supports our office hours of Monday-Friday 8a-5p. The role will typically work an 8.5 hour shift with a 30 minute lunch break each day. Generally overtime is not expected and May-September the office closes at noon on Fridays for summer hours.
