KCIT is seeking to hire an IT SystemsSpecialist Journey A/V to join our team. This position will assist in the efforts to update, standardize, improve and maintain all KCIT Supported conference rooms for King County. Work will include the end to end deployment of A/V technology, support of A/V technology issues, and assisting the Senior A/V Specialist in coordinating work with King County Departments and vendors. Additionally this role will assist with managing conferencing licensing tools and supporting press conferences. (E.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams Live, etc.)

Job Duties
Responsible for tracking inventory and room layout of all supported conference/collaboration rooms.
- Responsible for keeping detailed inventory of KCIT A/V equipment and room layout. Regularly scheduled checks and maintenance may be required to replace missing peripherals and specialized equipment (Microsoft Hub pens, mics, broken cables, etc.).
- Assist in creating a detailed scope of work reflecting the approved set-up. Understand time and cost for in-house labor including tool, vehicle set-up, parts and equipment. Understand time and cost of labor required by facilities. Contribute to determining the priority order of the installations.
- The primary body of work for this role is the installation and configuration of selected A/V solutions. Knowledge of commercial/residential building codes & standards and building/wire schematics is desired. Day-to-day work could include the setup, install and calibration of equipment such as microphones, webcams, sound speakers, audio amplifier, video screens, projectors, video monitors, TV, white boards, touch screens, recording equipment, A/V over UTP Extenders, networking, automation equipment and others. Connect and or troubleshoot wires and cables including CAT3 CAT5 CAT6, speaker wire, coax, component cables, RCA cables, Optical cable, 3.5 Audio Cable, HDMI, VGA and other.
- Must be knowledgeable of industry standards for conference room setups and video conferencing such as Microsoft Surface Hubs/Skype/Teams, Polycom, Smart Technologies, Robin, GoToMeeting, Zoom, Mondopad etc. Need to be knowledgeable about how to safely mount IT/AV cabinets, screens, projectors, speakers, whiteboard etc.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional IT/AV experience.
- Desired Minimum 1 year vendor management experience.
- Experience with coordinating the analysis, purchasing and installation of hardware and furniture in spaces designed for meetings and collaboration is a primary requirement.
- Familiarity with the latest presentation technologies and equipment is needed for success in this position.
- Travel is required. Must have and maintain a valid driver license with no moving violations to drive a state vehicle for official use only.
- Must be familiar with industry standards for conference room and video conferencing such as Polycom, Microsoft, Smart Technologies, Robin, GoToMeeting, Zoom, Mondopad, etc.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and resourcefulness that leads to effective long-term solutions
- Demonstrated skill at working collaboratively, creating relationships, building trust and rapport with others and is seen as a team player.

- Valid WA State driver's license
- Successful clearance of Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check is required for the selected candidate.

The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of onsite work and telecommuting. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Work ScheduleThis position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and not overtime-eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek, normally 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Alternative work schedules may be considered.
