Five Star Home Services is currently accepting applications for the position of IT Support Technician in our Xenia location.

Job Description:

 

SUMMARY: The IT Support Technician is responsible for technical support and IT administration for the organization.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


· Aids users in the use of computer hardware, software, and specialized technology.

· Performs regular maintenance of IT systems and databases.

· Configures and maintains staff computers, peripherals, and user accounts.

· Tracks time for billable IT requests that come in.

· Maintains an accurate inventory of all devices under their supervision.

· Receives, manages, and resolves technology support requests via tickets, phone calls, and email.

· Performs troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, and implementation of corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines and/or escalates to other technical resources as appropriate.

· Collects, wipes, and deletes devices and accounts collected from employees leaving the organization.

· Assists with Audio/Video equipment and setup.

· Accurately documents resolutions for support requests and instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal for future reference.

· Maintains and upholds procedures for logging, reporting, and monitoring computer systems.

· Supports the development and implementation of new IT projects.

· Assists in scheduling and performing computer equipment upgrades and repairs.

· Maintains a tidy office area and inventory, such that it has a professional appearance.

· Performs all other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Associate degree in an IT related field preferred, two or more years IT experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.

· Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

· Computer Skills: Demonstrates use of intermediate computer operations and intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

· Other Qualifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or equivalent certificates preferred. Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 strongly preferred.
