US African Development Foundation
The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) is an independent U.S. Government agency established by Congress to support African-owned enterprises which improve lives in poor and vulnerable communities in Africa. Our foreign assistance in Africa is an investment in local economic development for peace and security today and prosperous U.S. trading partners tomorrow. USADF invests directly in community enterprises, providing seed capital and local technical support to early stage agriculture, off-grid energy and youth-led enterprises in Africa. Last year, our grant assistance generated $100 million in new local economic activities in poor and vulnerable communities across Africa. With 20 USADF country programs, local African staff and partners provide oversight and technical expertise to grow and expand community enterprises which ensures security, stability and prosperity in conflict and post-conflict areas in Africa.
Overview
USADF has a need for an IT Support Specialist in the Office of Information Technology to provide support to IT Operations for Washington HQ users and overseas Offices.
Requirements (Duties include but are not limited)
  • Serve as the primary Tier 1 support for all Information Technology departments' related issues.
  • Accounts management (on boarding and off boarding of user accounts; password resets)
  • Maintaining inventory supplies for USADF IT department
  • Maintaining asset inventory to current and accuracy
  • Troubleshooting and supporting IT related issues through call-in or ticketed through help desk portal or support@usadf.gov
  • Preparing new laptops for employees or re-imaging laptops for reuse
  • Providing configuration support for the following environment: Active Directory, Office 365 Cloud and related components which are: SharePoint, Exchange Online, One Drive for Business, Microsoft Intune
  • Providing on boarding and off boarding support for users entering and exiting USADF which include the following:
    • Ensuring new IT equipment are configured to USADF IT standards
    • Ensuring new user has performed IT Security awareness training and submitted certificate
    • Closing user accounts per policy when a user exits USADF.
  • Configures new phones for new employees. Remove phone extensions from exiting employees' phones.
  • Prepare Continuous Monitoring reports as required by the agency's continuous monitoring plan
  • Support Mobile Device Management (MDM)
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including printing issues.
Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Must have any of the following industry certifications: ComptiA A+, Security +, Network +, CCNA, Microsoft certified MCSA.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience supporting IT Operations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of troubleshooting experience as an IT Support specialist in an enterprise environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of IT customer support experience.
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience with McAfee Anti-virus and patch management support.
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Windows 10 enterprise.
  • Have at least two (2) years of experience with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience with the following Microsoft Office 365 cloud components: SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Office 2016 Pro, One Drive for Business, Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience with Inventory Management Systems.
  • Must be either a U.S. citizens or have lawful permanent resident status, and reside within the United States or its territories.
