Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Support Specialist 2 to join our dynamic IT team. As an IT Support Specialist 2, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the overall functionality of our organization's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. This position will be full-time in office for training with the possibility of remote/hybrid after the training period.
Responsibilities:
End-User Support:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Respond to user inquiries and resolve problems via telephone, email, remote assistance, or in person.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
Hardware and Software Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and system upgrades.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Document solutions to common problems and share knowledge with the team.
Security Compliance:
- Ensure that IT systems and infrastructure adhere to security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce security measures.
- User Training:
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on IT-related topics to enhance overall digital literacy.
- Create user guides and documentation for common IT processes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT support role.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office suite.
- Experience with desktop and server operating systems.
- Knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
- VmWare / Hyper V
- AD, Remote Desktop, DNS, Group Policy
- TCP/IP Networking, Firewalls, VPNS
- RMM Tools (Ncentral, Ninja, Kaseya, Automate, Autotask)
- Windows Server OS Management
- Patch Management
- IT Infrastructure-server, cloud, and networking
Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to end-users.
Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Team Collaboration:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and share knowledge effectively.
- Willingness to mentor and assist junior team members.
