This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5537000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS, National Guard.Qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-09, in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation, IT Specialist (Systems Administration). Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment; experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-09 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.

Education: Must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of this position and is directly related to the work of this position.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet the qualifications requirement for this position by combining your specialized experience and appropriate progressively higher-level graduate level education according to the following formula: (a) your total months of full-time specialized experience as a percentage of a 12-month total; PLUS (b) your total number of qualifying progressively higher-level graduate semester or quarter hours as a percentage of one year of graduate study. The total of the two percentages must equal at least 100 percent.
