The Office of The Chapter 13 Trustee is seeking to fill an IT Specialist position. We are responsible for the administration of Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases filed in the Augusta and Dublin divisions of the Southern District of Georgia.
The position is an integral part of bankruptcy case administration. The IT Specialist is responsible for managing the Chapter 13 application database and hardware system, monitoring and tracking controlled access programs to ensure implementation and viability of appropriate systems security policies, conduct audits of cases, write Crystal Reports using SQL queries to access and update data, and integrate them into the automated information systems. The IT Specialist uses knowledge of performance monitoring, quality assurance principles, technical documentation, system security, and analytical methods to identify and solve routine issues and problems, prepare and update manuals and operating procedures, provide information and assistance to customers, evaluate methods and procedures, prepare recommendations and ensure appropriate security measures are observed. The position will maintain all other technologies related to the office network, including (but not limited to) Active Directory, IIS, Exchange Server, firewalls, backups, fiber connections, VOIP phone system, closed-circuit cameras, and remote access/VPN. The IT Specialist will stay current with vendor technology updates and best practices. The IT Specialist may be tasked with other duties, as necessary.

- Ability to process complex verbal and written documents/instructions and translate them into a series of logical problem-solving steps.
- Ability to perform mathematical functions.
- Ability to comprehend interrelationship of various computer functions.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Excellent spelling and grammar required.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills and be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, professional attitude and appearance
- The knowledge of standard office procedures and legal terminology is required.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, scripting, databases, and MS Office tools (e.g. MS Word, Excel)
- Good phone skills required
- This is not a virtual position.
- Accuracy of work product essential.
Experience: Two years of technical experience required. Candidate must be proficient in Database Management and SQL Queries, Crystal Reports, Bootstrap and Jquery. VB/ASP experience is a plus. Specialized training, education, or certification may be an acceptable substitute for work experience.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field preferred. Current MTA certification a plus.
Training: Specialized training in Chapter 13 computing system preferred.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, bend and stoop. Must be able work in an office environment.
