Responsible for strategy development, planning, product support and development, operations and project management to ensure information systems activities effectively and efficiently fulfill the organizations goals. Manages Information Services operations in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Pender Community Hospital.
Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

- Manages day-to-day operations of the supervised department effectively and efficiently.
- Participates in the strategic planning for the organization in relation to building and maintaining programs that support the organization's mission, vision and values.
- Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce.
- Performs employee relations functions effectively to promote a positive work environment, influence retention and enhance communication.
- Manages departmental financial operations.
- Information systems and services strategic planning.
- Systems Administration/Reporting.
- Provides network, software and hardware planning and management.
- Manages training for Information Systems and equipment to ensure all staff are using the appropriate systems.
- Serves as organizations Chief Security Officer
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
Education, Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, computer technology, information management or related field or the knowledge usually attained through a four-year degree program.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years progressive experience in defining and implementing information systems within a healthcare environment; strategy development and thought leadership experience required. Customer service experience in Information Services and general understanding of laws, regulations and quality assurance standards, which impact health care, preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, professional business manner and ability to interact with people of differing professional levels. Candidate must skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing priorities.
- Knowledge of the use and support of personal computers, file servers, network architecture and operating systems, and is able to demonstrate familiarity with the operations and support of networked peripheral devices.
