Job Description
This role could be hybrid or remote based on proximity to an office location.
This position will lead a team of associates focused on delivering in the maintenance of application software and/or systems in accordance with the needs of the business. Lead a team of production support focused Business System Admins and Developers. Use knowledge and experience to advance the practice of application development. This team will be the first point of escalation for production oriented I.T. issues.

What you do
  • Lead a team consisting of mainframe developers, open system developers, and business system analysts.
  • Contribute to solutioning efforts with team, application owners, architects, business analysts and clients.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Create a high performing culture by developing associate and business resources.
  • Provide production support on applications, systems, and processes to achieve business results.
  • Identify and resolve problems for both internal and external parties.
  • Monitor and evaluate adherence to regulations, policies, and change procedures.
  • Develop partnerships within the organization to engage in cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Analyze problems and provide solutions.
  • Consult with other IT business associates and leaders.
  • Incorporate future impacts into planning of I.T. solutions.
  • Plan and organize the work of team associates including B.S.A. and Developers.
  • Advance the practice of application development within Ameritas.
  • Oversee interviewing, evaluation, selection, and hiring for the team. Create a high performing culture within team through associate coaching, development, and engagement.
  • Onboard, train, and assist in directing the continuous development of associates.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 4-7 years of relevant I.T. development experience required.
  • 2-4 years of previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Understanding of basic COBOL design required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Java and secure coding practices required.
  • Knowledge and experience with open system tools required.
  • Insurance industry experience desired.

Salary range $113,524 to $187,314 per year.
