Driver Manager
THIS POSITIONS REQUIRES A VALID CLASS A CDL WITH A STRONG PREFERENCE GIVEN TO A CANDIDATE WITH MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
Directs and manages the trucking operations of Marsh Creek Concrete, Inc. on a daily basis. This involves Side-dumps, End-dumps, Low-boys, Hook and Roll-back trucks, etc.. This position will coordinate deliveries and equipment moves for multiple company operations. The position is based at our Facility in Gretna, Nebraska. This is a full-time position that includes benefits. This position reports to Director of Operations and President of the Company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coaching to performance metrics including safety, efficiency, and production.
Ensure regular safety operations are achieved.
Obtain daily delivery requirements from customers and site supervisors.
Communicate daily routes and truck assignments to our Drivers.
Monitor and manage changes for route progress.
Frequently communicate with Drivers to obtain progress information.
Monitor deliveries to effect changes in schedules and demands.
Collect and organize the load tickets, time sheets and job costs.
Enter data in the software.
Collect repair tickets on the trucks, communicating to the Shop Operations Manager.
Monitor Driver performance and compliance.
Communicate interdepartmentally to collaborate on company goals.
Assist with individual performance evaluations.
Ensure all Drivers meet current DOT regulations.
Responsible for Drug & Alcohol Policy enforcement.
Maintain Complete Driver Files with all appropriate documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with construction or trucking industry with Fleet Management
Ability to communicate well through oral and written instructions.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Knowledge of DOT Regulations and Compliance requirements.
Familiarity and understanding of managing GPS tracking and monitoring.
Familiarity with the Omaha Metropolitan Service Area.
Reasonable related work experience which would indicate positive attributes.
Able to act tactfully, humbly and diligently in interpersonal activities.
Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in reacting to changed conditions.
Ability to evaluate driving performance and equipment condition.
Able to administer our Driver’s Program for policy compliance.
Able to train and communicate safe practices in loading, unloading and hauling.
Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
