Position Focus:
Yale Information Technology Services (ITS) is a technology organization committed to the University's educational mission by providing innovative technology such as reliable infrastructure services, high performance computing, web development, mobile technologies development, academic instructional technology, project management, and network security. We are looking for enthusiastic, think-outside-the box individuals to join our team. Under the guidance of Yale’s information technology leadership, participate in an Early Career Development Program targeting college graduates interested in careers in information technology. Consisting of three 6-month rotations beginning in July, the program will give participants the opportunity to work on a variety of roles such as: System Administration, Software Engineer, Business Analysis, Network Engineering, Project Management, Change Management, Process Management and Information Security.
Essential Duties
1. Works closely with experienced staff to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become proficient in the area(s) of specialization. Takes initiative to increase understanding of all job-related areas. 2. Assists in applying principles and methods of the functional area to problems in technical areas to arrive at viable solutions. 3. Perform analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance activities within the area(s) of focus 4. Troubleshoot processes, issues, and errors. 5. Participate in projects that solve business requirements. 6. Explore and propose creative information technology solutions to business problems. 7. Pursues opportunities for efficiencies and/or to achieve cost reduction. 8. Work with business and technical partners to resolve business issues and respond to ad hoc requests. 9. Ensure all work is in compliance with Yale University and Information Technology policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements. 10. Complete additional assignments as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
