IT Business Analyst/DeveloperFinance & Accounting

 

This challenging, critical role is based in our newly renovated Middleton, WI Corporate Headquarters.  A highly collaborative role, this position works with functional users, internal and external IT resources and will join a talented team and company that is investing heavily in IT systems and services.

Job Summary:

 

The Sr. IT BA/Developer position will work with business users to collect and document requirements and use the requirements to design, configure and test projects related to ERP and business applications to ensure an optimal solution. Throughout the process, the Sr. IT Business Analyst will troubleshoot issues, meet with business users regularly to verify solutions and train users on results. The focus of the Sr. IT BA will be with the Finance, Order Processing, Operations and Supply chain departments in supporting their initiatives.

To accomplish this, you need to have excellent knowledge of the IBM i platform, and sound hands-on coding experience using RPG, ILE concepts, CLP, .NET, C#, SQL, Web technologies and DB2. You should have experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle and expertise in translating business requirements into technical solutions.

You will work closely with the Business Analyst and development team to make sure the software is built as per the specifications and meets business needs, work with the Quality assurance team to make sure the defects and issues are addressed in timely manner for successful software release into Production. Along with development job duties you should also have experience in production support activities which includes analysis, bug fixing, Testing and Implementation of Changes/Enhancements for production issues.

In addition, you’ll provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining, and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing, and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Objectives

  • Develop and maintain IBM i applications using RPG, RPGILE, SQLRPGLE, CLP, .NET, XML, C#, SQL, Web technologies and DB2 based on the Business Requirements and designs.
  • Perform business analysis work, document business requirements, and develop functional and technical specifications/designs.
  • Write functional specifications and develop interfaces between MS D365, Anaplan, Sourceday and custom ERP on IBM i.
  • Perform unit and integration testing for configuration and end to end business processes.
  • Work with business partners throughout the process to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Perform unit and integration testing, resolve production problems, develop, and deploy emergency fixes for the applications related to the financial domain.
  • Adhere to the project's defined implementation / deployment model.
  • Knowledge and experience with requirement specifications to define scope and system boundaries, recommend alternative methods to achieve complex system requirements and estimate resource implications of requirements at a high level.

  • Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
  • Adhere to project specific design pattern, guidelines, and checklist.
  • Be part of code analysis and review for applications developed on IBM i Platform
  • Work with other system support teams to resolve data and application issues in the interfacing systems.
  • Utilize tools and technologies to monitor IBM i application performance, batch jobs, develop tools and process to automate routine tasks.
  • Work with implementation team to deploy new and modified applications into production.
  • Provide Effort Estimate and track schedules for the development projects.
  • Involve in QA & UAT testing coordination of development projects.
  • Able to multi-task and manage priorities in a team environment.
  • Able to work independently with 3rd party vendors and stakeholders as and when required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related business field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience preferably in the financial domain.
    • Hands-on development experience on IBM i platform using RPG, ILE RPG, DB2, CL, CLLE, CLP, Query/400, SQL, SQLRPGLE, .NET, C# and SQL
    • Experience preferred in IT business analyst position supporting Order to Cash processes within a distribution or manufacturing organization.
