As directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor, this position is responsible for the inventory control within the DC, including the inventory counts, transfers, adjustments, audits, variance investigations and reports set by the established policies and procedures.
Schedule - Full Time Monday through Thursday 6 am start Until shift Completion.
Job Description
Discrepancies: Review inventory reconciliation and receiving discrepancies (ex. shortages, overages, and damages). As required, investigate discrepancies, ensure appropriate communication with vendors and document if necessary, on the required form.
• Physical inventories and cycle counts: Conduct cycle counts as necessary to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Communication: Communicate with ICC Supervisor, Regulatory Officer and management to ensure that potentially compromised products are removed and placed in a secured quarantine area for assessment.
• Records: Responsible to ensure that all records related to Inventory Control of products are accurate, retained and follow Good Documentation Practices.
• SOPs: Perform all tasks within the scope of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related with the ICC role.
• Stock Movement: Manage Stock Movement as it relates to size, weight and sales velocity.
• Other duties as directed by the ICC Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements.
- Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.
Specific Responsibilities
Duties generally include, but are not limited to the following:
• Shortages: Investigate, resolve and document shortages from the previous picking shift.
• Adjustments: Review and validate all adjustments and document as required.
• Vendor overstock returns: Prepare, pick, process, and send buyer initiated vendor overstock returns to shipping department for shipment.
• Recalls:
o Verify inventory and remove affected recalled product from the product location. Send receipt acknowledgement of recalls as per the established recall procedure. Report compromised products to National Recall Coordinator.
o Responsible to ensure recall notices are posted at the inventory picking locations in the warehouse and perform a sweep of the warehouse on a quarterly or biannual basis to ensure no outdated recall notices remain at the shelf location.
• Expiration dates: Manage expiration dates of products, enter on the set reports, and verify disposition instructions with appropriate buyer and report to appropriate stakeholders
General Responsibilities
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are respected.
• Communicate with supervisors and Regulatory Officer of any deviations that occur concerning established procedures and opportunities for improvements.
• Assure that work areas are kept safe, organized and clean.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety policies.
Position Requirements
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience using a forklift, reach truck, order picker, or other power industrial equipment.
• Experience in a distribution center/warehouse/manufacture environment is an asset.
• Basic math and reading skills and a high standard for attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to be a team player and work in a team environment.
• Strong focus of Customer Service and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to challenge processes and seek out process improvements or creative ways of completing tasks.
• Must be familiar and able to work with computers and automation.
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment.
• Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time.
• Reliable and punctual and willing to work various shifts.
• Exhibit flexibility/adaptability.
