Job Description:
The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for receiving, cataloging, delivering and monitoring the parts and inventory of a SAM Service, Inc. branch location. This will involve physically receiving new parts and inventory from Shipping agents before entering specific information on the item(s) into company software and logically storing each item on specified locations in the branch’s warehouse & drop zones. Inventory Specialists will work closely with Parts Administrator and Service Coordinator to ensure parts needed for service orders are stocked and ordered as needed. Specialists must be able to keep parts and inventory areas in order while following safety regulations to allow for quick and easy access to any and all parts needed. In the event of unused or incorrect parts, the Inventory Specialist will contact manufacturers and parts suppliers to determine the best course of action and return shipping if necessary. Responsibilities:
- Sourcing parts for service technicians with the highest possible efficiency and effectiveness.
- Follow company procedures for receiving inventory and placing them in the company’s system and physical inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, updating when parts are added or removed from warehouse inventory.
- Organize warehouse inventory in a branch’s given space and parts drop zones to optimize storage and maintain an orderly appearance.
- Creating and sending quotes to customers while delivering an excellent and elite customer experience.
- Verify shipping costs, lead times, and invoicing.
- Safely retrieve and store all parts and inventory as needed.
- Process returns within the company’s system as well as 3rd Party websites in order to properly ship return orders.
- Cultivate a working knowledge of SAM Service, Inc.’s services, niche, processes, and core values to competently communicate with customers.
- Meet or exceed monthly metrics.
- Work closely with and perform other duties as assigned by the Market Operator.
Requirements:
- Experience in warehouse organization or shipping/receiving is a must.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and temperaments.
- Ability to safely operate heavy warehouse machinery while complying with all state and federal regulations.
- Knowledge and use of information technology such as computers, handheld scanners, inventory software, and printers is a plus.
- Applicants must be able to frequently move boxes, cannisters, containers, etc. weighing up to 20 pounds across warehouse for various needs.
- Prospective employees must pass a drug-screening before hiring. SAM Service, Inc. employees must submit to random drug screening.
