We are currently seeking an Inventory Manager to add to our new location in Gurnee, IL. The Inventory Manager plays a pivotal role in the operational efficiency of the company, ensuring that inventory levels are well managed to meet the needs of the business without incurring unnecessary costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Develop and implement an inventory management system to optimize inventory control procedures. This includes monitoring inventory levels, tracking orders, and forecasting future demand to ensure efficient inventory levels.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee the entire supply chain process from ordering and purchasing inventory to the logistics of storage and distribution. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to ensure smooth operations.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze inventory statistics to identify significant differences in inventory levels, forecast future inventory needs, and prepare detailed reports for upper management on inventory performance, discrepancies, and other metrics.
- Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve inventory management processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs. Implement new technologies or systems as needed to support inventory management objectives.
- Compliance and Policies: Ensure all inventory management practices comply with industry regulations and standards. Develop and enforce company policies related to inventory control to ensure consistency and security.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Build and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy in stock levels and records. Address any discrepancies identified during audits and implement corrective actions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in inventory management, logistics, or a similar role. Experience in the specific industry of the company is highly beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and systems, as well as in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis, and Power BI
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze inventory trends and forecast needs.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to address inventory issues and improve inventory processes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for internal coordination and external negotiations.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
