Our Tuscaloosa County site is home to the production of Mercedes' luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles. Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Essential Functions: 

• Primary project: Key milestone is development and implementation of a tracking tool for all JIS-part claims (DMTs), including all claims issued in AM Supply
• This project will give a deep insight in different departments, as intern has to work with Logistics, Operations, Material Procurement and Quality Management
• Side tasks that provide opportunity to increase communication skills and automotive knowledge

Other Regular Daily Tasks

• Support for PQE and SQO on high risk suppliers with addressing issues directly to the supplier
• Supporting supplier quality engineers in daily business
• Supporting IRA tracking and preparation for escalation on MBUSI and supplier side
• Supporting on restructuring the PQE part / supplier assignment after EVA2 launch

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education: 

Student in: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Analytics and problem-solving skills sets
• Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Knowledge in automotive quality and supplier management
• Understanding about automotive Q-sensors, Mercedes preferred
• Knowledge about autom. PPFB and claim processes (8D)

Preferred Start Date:

• February 2024

Benefits:

• Paid Internship - hourly rate $18
• Coverage of visa costs
• $500 sign-on bonus
• $700 monthly housing stipend

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree
• Studies outside of the U.S.A
• A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
• Available for a minimum of 6 months
