Manufacturing Intern
Project Name: Cash Project Benchmarking & Next Steps
Project Duration: 3months
Paid Internship: The pay rate for this internship is commensurate with the candidate's years of schooling and major. The pay scale is between $15 - $26 per hour.
Requirements:
Business, Finance, or Industrial Management degree preferred
Coursework Prerequisites: Basic finance or project management preferred
Location: Sylacauga, Alabama
PROJECT SCOPE:
The project will analyze opportunities that could not be addressed during Cash Project implementation - 80/20 distribution - and identify the main ones that could be pursued. Quantify and propose action plans to address these opportunities working with the Cash Project Team and local teams to prepare a solid Action Plan.
The project may include all Inventory areas of one plant or the same area of different plants.
The project does not include the completion of any of the related actions, although that will depend on project timing and development.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & DELIVERABLES:
Analyze Inventory-related Cash Improvement opportunities that were not addressed during Cash Project implementation and quantify - propose an action plan.
PROJECT LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Key concepts /learnings:
Basic understanding of Cash optimization in a manufacturing facility, how it is impacted by routine operations, and the financial tools to measure and track it.
Working in teams and with different technical skills understanding communication and integration among different functions and roles.
Acquire practical knowledge on the application of tools to measure and track financial results in a manufacturing plant.
Generation of practical results from an improvement project - how to calculate impact and deliver results.
Learning of the impact of different technologies, asset sizes, and location changes in the implementation of a project.
Information on different Imerys plants and locations.
Acquire knowledge of the Culture / Mindset process and how to foster it in a manufacturing environment
