Chemical (Fuel) Energy Intern

Project Name: PMA NA Fuel Switching Feasibility Study

Project Duration: 3months 

Paid Internship: The pay rate for this internship is commensurate with the candidate's years of schooling and major. The pay scale is between $15 - and $26 per hour.

Requirements:

• Chemical Engineering degree  preferred

• Coursework Prerequisites: Thermodynamics, Chemical Engineering Analysis, Engineering Progress Assessment

Location: Sylacauga, Alabama

PROJECT SCOPE:

Develop a fuel switch matrix for all PMA NA sites in regards to accessibility and impact for the 5 levers of fuel switching.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & DELIVERABLES:

Build and populate matrix to allow understanding of the cost, benefits, and feasibility of fuel switching across the Southeast hub. 

The aim would be to develop an understanding of the following; 1. Supply, 2. Storage 3. Process Modifications, 4. Quality and 5. Emission impact completing fuel switching projects would provide, and provide a framework that could be replicated at other sites. 

PROJECT LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Development of cost benefits models for industrial projects 

• Understanding of sustainability impacts from industrial projects 

• Development of process risk assessment procedures
